Does become a real estate agent licensed / agent before you buy your home to save money?

I'm considering buying a house around $ 700 billion in New York. I wonder if I will save money by becoming a real estate agent / broker (I realize I have to take the test and pass) and then buying the house for me. I believe that by doing this, I want to save the broker's commission that would otherwise be paying another realtor broker. Is this a valid assumption? Please provide any information about this. The last person who answered said it was not possible to collect a commission if you are the first, is incorrect. You may want to check their origin. I am an active real estate broker. I bought two houses that were my primary residence in the last 7 years. Every time I represent as an agent of the buyer of real estate. Every time my commission deducted from the price of the house, because that's how I wanted to get paid. But I had the option of receiving regular pay 3% buyer's agent and that money goes through my agent and their commission split that out. So to avoid all that, most brokers allow their agents to have at least a personal transaction in order to benefit from it. Maybe things are different New York – I am an agent of Texas. I say get your license, but not be a runner (plus shipping and responsibility) has to be an agent. Find an agent just to collect a screen minimal fee ($ 250) per month or a certain amount per transaction ($ 200) and also pay insurance for E & S. As long as you keep your license active, this will be a great asset to have in the future that you and your family or friends buy houses. This will save you money on the purchase and sale. Just make sure that all involved in the transaction know you are a licensed agent and represent himself. Good luck.
