Now is the right time to refinance your mortgage? Please read. . . .?

We bought our house in October 2007. Our interest rate is 6.5%. Would it be good to refinance if the rate dropped to 5.75%? We need to lower the payments if necessary. We are so scarce at the moment with rising prices gas, food prices, childcare for the summer, etc. We are currently financed through Wells Fargo and have been in time with each payment. We filed bankruptcy in 2004 in a mobile home that had water damage so I was wondering if this may hinder us in refinancing? Any advice would be appreciated !!!!!!!!!!

It depends on what conditions do you get for a refinance, and if anyone even offer one in the percentage you want. There are also costs associated with refinancing, so that could prove financially beneficial unless you get a rate that is significantly less than 6.5%.

I bought a house in September 2009 with a mortgage rate 5.25 and I wonder if it would be appropriate to refinance now that he has declined to 4.5?

If you intend to stay for some time (at least 4 years) and qualified probably consider funding these historically low rates. Good luck.
